Ziad Aboultaif brings over a decade of experience as a small business owner and operator to the House of Commons. Since entering politics, Ziad remains a strong advocate for small business ownership and creating a regulatory system that empowers entrepreneurs to create the well-paying jobs that the residents of Edmonton-Manning rely on.
Ziad has had the honour of serving as the Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Manning since 2015. He was appointed Official Opposition Critic for National Revenue from 2015 to 2017, Shadow Minister for International Development from 2017 to 2019 and Shadow Minister for Digital Government from 2019-2020.
A successful business owner, devoted community leader and a strong advocate for live organ donations, Ziad has travelled around the world as part of his international business commitments, giving him firsthand experience of what drives Canadian and international economies. In recognition of his extensive work in the community, he earned both the Alberta Centennial Medal and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Originally from Lebanon, Ziad immigrated to Canada in 1990 and together with his wife, has two sons.
